It's no secret that adding a ton of veggies to your diet is a healthy habit for a variety of reasons... Low-calorie, fiber and nutrient packed vegetables of all kinds are great for bulking up your food with lots of filling volume as well as giving your body what it needs to thrive!
I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but today I am encouraging you to start your day with a hefty dose of the green stuff - meaning green veggies, of course! They don't all have to be green, but starting with that color scheme as your base ensures you'll have a lower-calorie, health-boosting foundation to your meal :) and no, avocado and edamame don't count in this case!
Whichever veggies you choose, add them to your egg scramble or omelet, blend them into a "milkshake" with protein powder and berries, or even grate some zucchini into your oatmeal... That one's a little out there, but I like it!
By starting off your morning in a super healthy way, you'll not only curb your appetite going forward but also you'll be more likely to stay on track for the rest of the day! Plus, more nutrients and more whole, unprocessed foods is always better - so go for it! You can eat a TON of green veggies for very little caloric cost, and who doesn't like eating MORE food!?
I have a friend, Beth, who eats the same breakfast every single day after she works out (side note: she is a MONSTER athlete at 45 years old, her work ethic and drive is incredible) - scrambled eggs and egg whites, 2 strips of turkey bacon, a bunch of sautéed kale and zucchini, and some roasted sweet potatoes for "dessert." She doesn't think about lunch for hours after a breakfast like that because she's so well fueled by those high-quality foods... BE LIKE BETH!
