Wouldn't it make you just fall asleep and be lazy. I get your Nate Diaz reference because it can promote relaxation and healing as you say. I think it has its healing merits, but it isn't a fitness enchancer. I didn't see you talk much about that in this article. Good ideas though.

There are different view points on this but no hard science, some people claim it can increase cardio, I used to smoke before going to BJJ. I wouldn’t say it increases cardio but it was something I found helped even during training especially in Jiu-Jitsu
