Your Dreams Lie Just Beyond the Work - Keto Cut Day 27

in fitness •  7 years ago

Hey everyone! I was thinking about motivation over the past few days as I've been taking my workouts to the next level and adding significantly more cardio and lifting to my regular routine.

I see a lot of people walking out of the gym and they don't seem to be too fatigued. It kind of puzzles me when people say that they "just can't seem to lose weight" or "can't find the right diet". It's seems to be a more obvious problem to me - they aren't acknowledging the work that it takes to achieve what they want to. I would ask them: Are you really doing enough cardio? Are you really eating healthy enough?

I even have a friend who constantly talks about losing weight, but he never hits the gym consistently and when he does go to the gym, he works out for a very short period of time and barely loses his breath.

This lesson applies to more than just fitness or losing weight. It applies to every goal and dream that you have:

To achieve your dreams and realize your goals, all you have to do is climb the mountain of work that's between you and your dream.

If you want to lose weight, your mountain of work is awaiting - intense cardio sessions, a cleaner diet, longer and more intense weight lifting sessions...

If you want a promotion, your mountain of work is awaiting - show up to work earlier, work harder, go beyond your scope of responsibilities...

Life is relatively simple for us. We all have a natural desire to achieve something. No matter what it is, we all want to accomplish some goal or realize some dream in life. All you have to do is identify your mountain and get to work!!!

There is this popular saying in Nigeria that goes "nobody wants to die but everybody wants to go to heaven."

People hardly realise the fact that you have to give something to get something. Nothing good they say comes easy so you have to put in the work and efffor. Non of the successful people we have today got there by just sitting and doing nothing. They all put in the work and got results afterwards which is success.

It makes me laugh when I see people say they want to lose Weight like your friend but never visits the gym and never eats healthy , yet they complain bitterly everyday.

In the nut shell...effort brings success so if you wana success in anything, put in the work.

Nice you r true

I LOVE this idea.....

You're really right, many people do not want to do what it takes really, because they feel it's too cumbersome for them to bear, however living fit and living well is made possible by sacrifices and people needs to understand this.
I've broken my ankle before trying to expands my meter record in racing, just to keep feet once.

Hey @conradsuperb! Glad to hear from you and I'm glad to hear that it worked out for you! I'll check that out rn!

I do believe that both hard work and smart work are extremely essential to unlimited success. In my opinion, hard work can be totally in vain if there is no passion. We should first determine our goals, then believe, and above all else find joy in working hard for them.

Beautiful .. Thank you words, we must learn patience
Great post from you
Thanks for sharing

The key is to do a little everyday and keep with it. In the Army when the officer says, "Move this mountain" the soldiers obey one shovel at a time.

Agreed! I sometimes have to play the officer to myself and be ruthless about sticking to what I've started. Motivation will waver but I think raw will-power plays a big factor in being able to accomplish any large task over a given period of time.

I know. You must have been busy. You almost missed Steem bounce up again:)

Agree. I fall into this trap too much. Now that I've hit 40s the body doesn't ignite with energy as it use to.

Grant Cardone said a quote which was applied for business but fits exercise and life as well. The reason people do not enjoy work is they quit before they receive the benefits. Without the right results people will be discouraged on the work involved so you have to get to the OTHER SIDE where the rewards out weight the work.

100% agree! Love that Cardone quote. Most people do quit after they realize that they haven't really gotten anything yet. Only those who stay the course end up earning something for their hard work!

This is really a motivational post
I love the way you address the issue of weight loss and relating it to every mountain in our lives and career.

The mounting I am working on currently is building a great audience who I can relate with anytime any day.
I have made some progress especially on the steem blockchain with over 700 followers. I am not too happy with my progress because i am far away from my target but with this motivation i will add more effort.

Thank you sir

I have been away for a while recovering from a stroke on May 6th. After the stroke I had two weeks of intensive Rehabilitation to get my life back. I have posted information in the past on fasting and of the 11 books I read on the subject every single one of them told me not to abuse it. Every book told me that although I can get very healthy I had to eat good food, unfortunately I did not follow that advice and instead consumed copious amounts of sugar using fasting to not gain weight. I was foolish! The most interesting thing is that a ketogenic diet helps the brain recover from injury including stroke. so I am once again embracing a ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting to recover from this crisis. However, I can tell you with complete certainty that the sweetest thing that will ever pass my lips is fresh fruit , but never fruit juice. Fruit juice is an Insidious form of concentrated sugar who's detriment to your body outweighs any possible benefit. I hope to post often as I continue to recover.

You're right. Only hard training, more aerobic exercises to activate the cardiopulmonary system.

Working out is a very tedious activity and spread over a long time there by requiring alot of dedication. Its easier to do one or two things when you just started, the real deal is keeping it up

I agree with you.You are right.Nobody wants to die but all men 1 day goes to die. This is reality and everybody know that.

This lesson applies to more than just fitness or losing weight. It applies to every goal and dream that you have:

I totally agree with you you my friend, you see people needs to realize it’s not talking about their problems that solves it, it is taking actions. If action were words then we’d all have the supernatural power to make things happen through our words .

This is motivational, it’s time to quit talks and springs into action after all the say actions speaks louder than words. Merci boucoup mon ami, this is motivational

Currently working on finishing my studies with pretty good grades and losing weight. Doing well so far with my studies, but I haven't lost too much weight.. I'll have to convince myself to eat more healthy and do some more exercise. Good read as always!

I read your message loud and clear @khaleelkazi. The lessons I have learnt of being disciplined in my workouts and my eating habits, I wish I had learned that years ago.

As you ever wisely written this discipline applies into almost every aspect of our lives.

Thanks for sharing a very powerful message 💪🏾

Following someone will be very difficult. You should set goals that you are capable of and comfortable of.

I think it's better to set goals that are slightly outside of your current capabilites- those are the goals that force you to stretch yourself in order to achieve them.

Another cool thing.

Thanks! What did you like about it?

ya i like it

Thanks for the post, I'm just getting back into working out, very motivational.

Thanks for reading! I'm glad it can help you to get that motivation! Keep at it buddy!

Some of us have been writing poems for the past 6 weeks. We got up to 50 today.

I'm restarting my exercise needs all over again after five years of intense core yoga. Switching it up by going to the gym. It's a slow start so far, but I look forward to customizing more routines and you're inspiring me!

Core yoga is actually really tough! I didn't think so until I did my first session! Glad to hear it! It's a slow start at first but it's great when you get into the routine of it and can really enjoy it as a sort of meditation!

very informative post.but some people want to release fat but don't want to do hard work.i give them a short tips.that's the yoga.yes.i think it's the best way to fit us.

yes.i do huge work.it's my thought.and i get success...no pain no gain.

haha what is that from?

its very valuable and very learnable post....personally i like it...so amazing

Haha thanks, what did you think of the QOTD?

Very informative

You meant to say very motivational, this is the motivation people needs. This kinda talk daily, using some comments as an illustration... don’t be offended, I believe people wants upvote from commenting, but are they really reading the post ? Do they take time out to right a very relative comment and let the author know and learn some little things through comments. Don’t be offended, this will only let you get better... some blunt people will definitely flag or downvote such comment as spam. Take to my advice and you won’t get to worry about getting out if minus reputation.

Great info! Getting there man!

I am working on getting my music composition chops back for an upcoming project on the East coast!

Thanks! Slowly but surely making progress!

That's awesome, good luck with that! I'd love to hear something if you end up posting it on steem, let me know!
