Brass enhances Raja component and hence, cooking food in brass utensils is beneficial for health. Upon contact with the flow of Raja-predominant waves in brass, the nutrient juice containing voids in the food become active to release the nutrients. This Raja-predominant process is transferred to the body through the medium of food, and makes the voids in the body sensitive to imbibe the subtle-gas in the food. Thus, the process of digestion is simplified and made easy. Therefore, in the earlier times, utensils made of copper or brass were used to more in the kitchen as well as in the implements used in puja (Ritualistic worship)

Copper : Copper enhances the Sattva component and hence, it is used for an all-encompassing source like water. Awakening of the Panchapran (Five vital energies) transfers the sattvikta (Purity) of food into the body within a short period.
Brass : Brass leads in emission of subtle Tej (Absolute Fire Principle)-enhancing sound that has inherent gas. The food charged with this subtle-sound is conducive for awakening of the Panchapran in the body.

Brass is mixture of Copper (Cu) and Zinc (Zn). It is also known as Pital in Hindi. Cookware made of this metal must be Tin (Sn) coated. In ancient India most of the utensils were made of Brass metal. Bronze is good source of copper and tin and Brass is good source of copper and zinc.

The health benefits of copper include proper growth of the body, efficient utilization of iron, proper enzymatic reactions, as well as improved health of connective tissues, hair, and eyes. It is also integral for preventing premature aging and increasing energy production. Apart from these, regulated heart rhythm, balanced thyroid glands, reduced symptoms of arthritis, quick wound healing, increased red blood cell formation, and reduced cholesterol are other health benefits of copper. The health benefits of copper are crucial for an overall healthy existence, as this mineral enables normal metabolic process in association with amino acids and vitamins. It cannot be produced within the body and therefore needs to be added from external food sources. It is the third most prevalent mineral in the body and it is mostly carried by the blood plasma protein, Ceruloplasmin. In order to enjoy the health benefits of copper, it must be included in the daily diet, as it is used up in daily bodily processes.
