Trying out a new, and rather strange diet that I made up and probably won't work

So the reasoning behind this is a couple of things: For one thing, I haven't been getting enough natural protein in my diet lately in order to maintain the muscle mass that I have or perhaps even grow it a bit. I lift 5-6 days a week and I will be the first person to tell you that it really doesn't matter how much you lift, if you are not giving your body the correct fuel you will NOT gain muscle mass. Trainers and bodybuilders all around the world will agree that gaining muscle, or even losing weight is 80% what you put in your body and 20% what you do with it.

So since I have been having difficulty getting the 90-120 grams of protein a day that I need in my diet I have decided to seriously step up my whey protein intake.

This is my favorite flavor of whey protein. It is also from a reputable brand that has been independently tested so I know the claims that they make on the container are in fact true. This is something I harp on about frequently about the supplement industry and how they can lie on the containers and get away with it, but this particular brand has been tested multiple times by independent studies, NOT ones that were funded by the company that manufactures it.

While I am trying to maintain or even grow my muscle mass I am also trying to lose a bit of fat. I am one of those guys that refuses to eliminate certain things from his diet such as in my case, beer. I love it and I am not going to stop drinking it, so other things will have to go instead.

My method for this is that the only thing I eat for breakfast and lunch is protein shakes and fruit. I try to stick with berries and avoid carb heavy fruits like bananas but honestly, I'm not going to slice and dice it to that degree, I eat whatever the local supermarket has on special basically.

Then for dinner I am going to eat whatever I want but still try to not go crazy and eat an entire pan pizza or something like that, but i do eat whatever I happen to fancy at the time. I've been eating a bunch of burgers and kebabs but that could change anytime I feel like it. I also drink beer every single day and this is not going to change. On weekdays I normally have around 4 but one weekends the gloves truly come off and I will likely have 10.

I have done a bit of math and found out that this is going to establish a caloric deficit pretty easily on the weekdays at least and hopefully this will result in fat loss while still maintaining muscle mass.

I don't really have any idea though to be honest. A lot of this was actually inspired by the fact that in the mornings and sometimes even extending to the afternoon most of what I choose to eat I eat it mere for sustenance, not because I actually want to eat whatever that thing happens to be.

So we'll see. I've been on this program for a week already and I have lost around 2 lbs and still maintained the muscle mass. This doesn't mean that my belly is going to go away though because as I have lectured others on many times in the past, it ISN'T POSSIBLE to target belly fat. Where your body decides to eliminate the fat from appears to be a completely arbitrary decision. Since I have bad luck in a general sense it will likely be the last place my body decides to eliminate it from.

I hope this works because if it does, I actually don't mind this diet at all.
