Working The Magic That Is The Body
Plenty to be cracking on with. No time to much on much but mind over matter or matters that mind the gap.
Inspired by the magic of a workout, I decided to check out the best routine for me. I have chosen the Elliptical Cardio Total Body one and my fitness guru will be Alyssia Sheikh. I trust my random pick because I love aubergine (egg-plant for you New World folks) - the colour of her hair some of the time. At other times it's the colour of Swiss chard stalks,
which are very good for you and Switzerland has very Eco friendly, durable, sustainable, low-impact, nitrogen-free spots or oxygen-plus spots or spots where you will be fit and free just because. Her name, to me, resonates towering success. She also has a cute dog and knows how to make cup-cakes. Plus check out her X-mas tree on Instagram and tell me you are not inspired to get a great body.
Please find a useful sheet below of "mindovermunch's" Elliptical work-out routine to put up on (a stand?) or stick (? I've never been to a gym....) to your treadmill machine with the handles (very important to use a thingummy exercise machine WITH these "arms" so that you can also use it without using your arms aswell in segment 2 and 3 - for a core-workout needing you to engage abs to maintain balance).
On a more serious note, some of us go to the gym to try and fix ourselves as best we can for as long as we can.
We meet with support from other people with crippled limbs and crunched up bones.
Or so I have been told and I dream to think how that could work.
Let the body do what the body knows best how to do.
Would that be working out? Some kind of work, for sure. Beast of burden that it is, carrying our soul into this incarnation.
What made me quit my gym membership within a couple of tries were the men. All very busy no doubt, and definitely not leering at my soggy body, but still it felt akward, unlady-like, to lie with my legs drawn up on the floor with a medicine ball between them or squatting or just simply panting and groaning under the strain of targeting the goals.
For me, there is something so divorced between the woman-man, Yin and Yang that ought to harmonise for the body in all it does, when working out at a gym. It's a funny block in my mind no doubt. My body feels separated from everything else I hold sacred, and not elevated into temple mode, that I have to admire soulful people who have no problem getting on with whatever the body needs.
I never got how that could work. But I'm not much of a body over mind kinda girl to begin with. On the best of days, in the best of beds, I even tend to forget I am horizontal or physical or ready to move to the groove.
I tend to get lost in the colour of it all.... The Mood that is of a dynamic that surpasses form.
A kind of moaning beyond the dying that for me always begs the body is heard one last time resonanting in the other.
