I discovered this awesome short documentary way too late but better late than never, right?

Many of us have over the years played some Mario game. Even the “youngsters” amongst us who are rather recent in the “computing era” may have tried Mario Run on their phone. That’s how long lasting the iconic plumber has become.

All the way from its first release in 1985(*).

The character, designed by Shigeru Miyamoto, has been with us ever since and not one Nintendo console has not seen a Super Mario franchise release.

The team over at Great Big Story sat down with the legendary game designer and released an awesome, insightful short documentary about the origin history of the franchise.

If you’re a geek or gamer, these are 6 minutes of your life you won’t regret.

Fans of awesome video interviews and documentaries can follow The Great Big Story on YouTube and their website for readers.

(*) Mario actually made his first appearance in 1981, in the Donkey Kong game.

You're right, I did not regret it. Mr. Video Jumpman ha... I also like the shots of what look like architectural blueprints. Designs and curves and fun stuff.
