Today (June 14th) was Flag Day, a US holiday commemorating the adoption of the Stars and Stripes in 1777. All hail the magic pole quilt! May it wave away tyranny! People keep saying the prayer of allegiance to it, so we should have liberty and justice for all by now, right?

In case it isn't clear enough yet, I have nothing but contempt for the state religion and its symbols. National flags represent national governments, and despite the mythology of democracy, governments do not represent the populace. There is no rational basis for believing any flags represent family, society, virtue, courage, honor, or any other ideal you may hold dear. A flag is just a piece of cloth. Put your faith in something that can't be waved in your face by any old two-bit tyrant as a distraction from his evil deeds.

What have you got to replace it?

Not everything that needs to be discarded needs to be replaced. Society predates the state. Government is a parasite on it, not its foundation. The only thing we need to address is the misconception that someone is in charge, and someone needs to be in charge.

Do you suggest we return to the original caveman idea? he with the biggest club is the boss.
Might is right, no matter how wrong it is?

How is that different from how governments act today? Isn't democracy just "we have more who agree with us, so shut up and obey"? Isn't international policy governed by military and monetary might?

What is the alternative?
There must an attraction to make people want to do things that take time, for example, would you like to have a broken arm and nobody could be bothered to fix it for you? would you like the person you finally convinced to have set a bone before? or do you want to be his first attempt? there must be some incentive for somebody to spent the time learning how to do the job properly if you are going to continue working and feeding your self.

Yes, there is a market demand for various services currently monopolized by the State. That in no way justifies the government monopoly, or demonstrates any efficiency or ethical claim. Meanwhile, all around us, we have the market as an alternative example for voluntary order. It is as invisible as air if you aren't looking for it.
