On July 5th, 1971 the President of the United States signed into law a constitutional amendment. What amendment to the constitution do you think he signed? I will answer that toward the end of the post.
The begining of the Digital age as we know it today. It was 1971 that the first microprocessor was built, the first CPU from Intel. For a more in-depth review of the demise of social networking being going to the yearly christmas party and yearly fourth of July company baseball game here is a story from computerhistory.org on the invention of the 4004 chip.

As a kid I loved the parent parties and things that just had to be attended. You got to meet a lot of new people and new kids to play with, and there was always something to do for the kids at the "Parents" parties. I think most of the work related parties and such are pretty much gone by the wayside, thank you very much Intel.
Pentagon Papers
The Pentagon Papers were commissioned as a report on the political and military involvement of the United States in Vietnam. The report covers U.S. involvement from World War II to 1968. The report was commissioned in 1967 by Robert S. McNamara, who was the Secretary of Defense at the time.
They came to light and notoriety via a leak of a portion of them to the NY Times newspaper, back when they actually cared about the Rights of the American People and their right to know what was going on. It would be another 4 years before Vietnam was sort of kind of over.
On December 22, 2017 Steven Spielberg movie "The Post" was released: From Google Side write up/review - - Katharine Graham is the first female publisher of a major American newspaper -- The Washington Post. With help from editor Ben Bradlee, Graham races to catch up with The New York Times to expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spans three decades and four U.S. presidents. I did not see it, most like will not see it, but here is a link to it if you want to see it to the IMBd page on "the Post"
Here is a small excerpt from the US Government Archives
The Pentagon Papers, officially titled "Report of the Office of the Secretary of Defense Vietnam Task Force", was commissioned by Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara in 1967. In June of 1971, small portions of the report were leaked to the press and widely distributed. However, the publications of the report that resulted from these leaks were incomplete and suffered from many quality issues.
There are 48 boxes and approximately 7,000 declassified pages - - for those of you who want to know they are available in PDF format on the Archive page linked above.
One day our Media Moguls may wake back up to the early seventies year and take a real interest in doing investigative reporting. It may be to late for that, but one can always hope. Until they do we have citizen reporters that are willing to go out and find the truth. @informationwar on steemit is a good place to find some of the citizen reporters.
Okay Friday is almost over for me so to answer the start if you have not remembered.
