It Seems SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING's Writers Have Officially Signed On To Direct FLASHPOINT

in flashpoint •  7 years ago

Flashpoint has been through its fair share of directors at this stage and the movie has been delayed so frequently that it's now kind of hard to believe that it was actually supposed to be released this month! That's right, the movie's original release date was March 23rd, 2018, a slot taken by Tomb Raider. On the plus side, it appears as if the Scarlet Speedster's solo outing finally has new filmmakers at the helm!

During a recent interview, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein revealed that they still haven't signed a deal with Warner Bros. (despite first being connected to the project in January) but it looks like things have finally been sorted out based on the Tweet below. With any luck, the writing and directing duo will now crack on with figuring out where they want to take the DC Comics adaptation.

Rumours have been swirling about Warner Bros.' plans for Flashpoint. Some claim it will adapt the comics and reset the DC Films Universe, while others believe it will be a straightforward Flash movie featuring the likes of Captain Cold and Reverse-Flash. We'll have to wait and see but with the guys partly responsible for Spider-Man: Homecoming behind the camera, Barry Allen may be in good hands.
