Yes, in a grid down situation, copper jacketed bullet points will eventually run out. I can copper plate some lead, but gas check reloads would be easier.

The cast bullets would obviously become the primary use firearm, because it is renewable, during grid down schenarios.

hey another way to get rich if that day comes.
or maybe money won't matter after that!

Money won't matter, but barter will be Very popular!

If the grid does not stay up (it was down twice today); I will be golden. If it survives, I have had a lot of fun, and will save a lot on electricity, LOL! :)

I actually enjoy casting these bullets, and making my own ammo; saves me a lot of money! Besides, after the grid is down...is NOT the time to learn, anything. :)

the man with a plan! but if the grid stays down, what about food?
I mean you don't have your underground aquaponics thing set up yet.

I will have a normal garden on the land right away, and I have at least a year of food stored. That is why I have been accumulating canning jars with tattler (reusable) lids, to can the garden food. I have already planted some stuff on the new land.

I have been wildcrafting for decades. I can live off the woods, if I need to. :)

wildcrafting is what exactly?

Collecting food and medicine from the wild. You might call it foraging, but without wiping out the basic plant stock. I will wildcraft some Mullen soon (found a large stand of it, in a stste park), but if you know what is good to eat, you can do well with zero supplies.

I had a survival course when I was 16 where we camped in the wild for a week, with no supplies. I ate well....

ok what's a Mullen?
you answered my second question about how in the world you
know what to eat...you remember from one course when you
were 16?
