Melihat langsung proses mekarnya Bunga Teratai putih (Nymphaea), nama genus untuk tanaman air dari suku Nymphaeaceae. Dalam bahasa Inggris dikenal sebagai water-lily atau waterlily. Di Indonesia, teratai juga digunakan untuk menyebut tanaman dari genus Nelumbo (lotus), Orang kami Bireuen menyebut dengan Bunga Cirih dan buahnya juga bisa dimakan.
Bunga teratai putih ini biasa hidup di air.
