Alamanda, or allamanda ,(Allamanda cathartica), is an ornamental plant commonly referred to as alamanda flower and is also often referred to as golden trumpet flower, yellow bell flower, or buttercup flower. Alamanda flowers come from Central and South America and are found in Brazil where it is commonly used as decoration because of its beautiful shape.
Alamanda flowers are known to have several medical functions, one of which can be used as a laxative. The sap of this plant has antibacterial properties. Alamanda flowers also have antibiotic properties against Staphylococcus bacteria. The flowers of this plant are also commonly used as medicine to prevent complications from malaria and inflammation of the spleen. In addition, the roots can also be used to prevent jaundice.
