Collecting Flowers #12 - Yellow Cosmos

in flower •  3 years ago

Good evening friends.

Today I want to share with you this flower, a Cosmos Sulphureus that is also well known under other names such as Yellow Cosmos, Sulfur Cosmos, Cosmos, etc. This flower attracts birds and butterflies like the monarch butterfly. I found this one on a hill and couldn't contain myself to climb it and take a photo of it. It is also a strong flower that can be cultivated in tropical and temperate gardens.

The Cosmos Sulphureus plant is native to Central America but has been cultivated in many countries and it is also an important plant to the Japanese and Korean culture. In 1996 it was declared a pest plant in some states of the United States, this is because it's a strong plant that can survive droughts and can spread easily.

To finish this post I'd like to share a beautiful video I found on Youtube about a Cosmos Road in Soth Korea. I hope you like it.

Thank you so much for reading.

Best regards.
