'Buransh' -Rhododendron is a family of woody plants which belongs to the heath family (Ericaceae).
This evergreen plant mainly found in Asia, although it is also widespread throughout the highlands of the Appalachian Mountains of North America. It is the national flower of Nepal and the state tree of Uttarakhand, India, where it locally known as 'buransh'.
In Uttrakhand flowers of this tree are used to make 'buransh juice' which is very delicious and has medicinal properties. Also, the timber of this tree is very useful for the locals.
