Meet the Vinca, a common flower with an unusual secret.
You probably will see it in public and private gardens, mainly during the summer,
as it flowers during the summer.
The vinca is also named Periwinkle.
These small plant hides 86 types of alkaloids, being the Vincristine one of them.
The secret is: Vincristine is used to treat some types of cancer, the important one is Leukemia.
Other types of cancer, like Lymphoma and some kinds of lung cancer, are also treated with Vincristine.
