In the weeds

One or other of the wild lettuce family, perhaps Latuca canadensis, it's classified as weed and grows in disturbed soil. So I have a small forest of these growing where I have leftover excavated soil from where I redid the drainage at my house.

These pretty little flowers only open if the sun shines and quickly close if it becomes cloudy. The bees love visiting and digging around in the flowers, the pollen is contained in the little dark strands

Looking at the powder puff seed heads and large numbers of aphids - autumn is here and the heat and dry weather brings the aphids out

Although wild lettuce plants are used medicinally and they have a white milky sap, they aren't members of the milkweed family. It seems that wild lettuce has pain-relieving properties.

No conozco esas plantas ni sus flores. Primera vez que veo una lechuga silvestre. Pero esos pulgones están en todas partes.

Thanks you for sharing this with us, it’s lovely. I love everything natural flowers 💐

Thank you

Flower and seed puff, very similar to Dandelions..

They are the same family

Interesting. Wild lettuce, perhaps it can be collected and used for food.

Some kinds can be eaten

I don't recognize it but it's surprising when weeds in other countries are summer annuals in mine.

In their home habitats, they have pests and diseases that prevent rampant growth

We have the last laugh since they don't expect snow! Is this weed another invasive species?

They aren't invaders but they are problem plants

Beautiful photos!
I like these wild flowers, they have a very bright, beautiful yellow color.

I would not mind having these flowers in my garden.
