I've been making beats since I was a kid. When I was maybe 11 or 12 years old, I acquired my first copy of FL Studio (or Fruity Loops as it was known at the time) from a friend, as many of us did. I would later learn that some circles give FL Studio a bad rap -- mainly because it's often the first DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) that a beginner gets their hands on. As a result, a large volume of beginner-level music is created in FL Studio, and guess what? That's okay.
The truth is that modern-day FL Studio is a perfectly viable DAW that is gaining favor by an increasing number of professional beat makers and producers -- including the late, great Aviicii. Personally, after many years and many different pieces of software, FL Studio is still my DAW of choice. I'm constantly looking to improve my knowledge and skill, and after 13 years I'm still learning new things on a regular basis. Today, I'm going to share with you a few simple things I've learned to help your music projects stay organized, on-track, and sounding their best.
