Flu season is still increasing. Most of the cases are H3N2, subclade 3C.2a1b.2a.2. Unfortunately this year's Flu vaccine targeted 3C.2a1b.2a.1, and lab data suggests this vaccine strain is a poor match for 2a.2.
Flu hospitalizations are rising, but still relatively low compared to previous seasons (note recent levels tend to be undercounts due to reporting lag). It is still early in this year's season.
Now virtually the entire US has Flu circulation, particularly the Eastern and Central US.
Not too late to get your Flu vaccine!
