Focus, consistency & going all in.
If you take these three core concepts, point them in a direction, you will be among the elite at whatever you do.
I come from a very humble background; we didn't always have money to pay the light bill type of humble.
Now, I learned pretty quickly that if I wanted to get anything in life I was going to have to outwork everyone else, period.
It isn't just about work, there is what you call dumb work and smart work. You don't have to be "smart", to do smart work, however, if you apply the golden three rules, whatever you do, you will rise to the top.
Most people don't focus, they are inconsistent and they definitely don't go all in. Going all in is scary, it takes guts it takes confidence in yourself to allow the chips to fall where they fall, knowing you play the hand the best you could.
It gets hard, people quit, people move to "greener grass". However, if you don't plant a flag somewhere you'll never conquer anything, and Rome sure as hell wasn't built overnight. It takes a certain amount of fuck it, run it. We are in a generation of safety net reliers and "good enough" sayers that have lead to a vacancy for greatness.
Greatness should be legendary, a certain bit of luck is needed. Nowadays, the great spots are vacant, anyone can claim the spots. It seems people are content with being content. Safitsfied, its good enough for them.
Speculation is weird. Few to nobody does research, so it goes way up and way down, everything "new." There is research, and there is getting it. Do you just research? Or do you research until you get it, until it clicks?
You gotta be willing to pick up the scraps when the party is over.
Cause the party will return.
Those who think it's over are those stuck in a today mindset with no vision of what the future can hodl.
The party is just getting started...
It is amazing to see what just deciding not to quit will accomplish. You gallantly trudge along with a singular focus that makes it easy to stay on a path. It seems every little step on that path is like shoveling dirt down a bottomless hole. Then you look down one day and see the hole is filled and starting to overflow.
They say in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that a black belt is a white belt who never quit. Same goes for rising to the top of whatever you do. The harder it is, most likely the more worth it it is to do.

Well said, Dan, well said. Focus, consistency & going all in, I think this is what my "Steem career" has been about. Been focused and consistent since my first day here back in November 2017. And going all in? Well, I abandoned most of the projects and gigs I had back then to make room for fulltime steeming. To be honest, it was already getting a bit frustrating at some points but I am a very stubborn person and I don´t leave the path I pick. Now I have a strong feeling that the times when I will be really happy about my decision are coming. Thank you for being such a morale booster in tough times and for all the positive and inspiring posts and videos you have made. Really means a lot. To the entire community.

Excellent advise. The extent of my investments and crypto involvement is just pretty much STEEM and a little Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin.
Your advice above could be applied to pretty much any type of endeavor. There goes old Sarge again, stating the obvious!

I do come from a humble background as well, and sometimes it is difficult to beat such odds but like you said, I extol consistency, so far it's taken me places I won't even dream of, it's important people understand that we have to keep chirping at a tree before it Comes down and if it was that easy we wouldn't have to do it more than once. When I write, it is me talking to myself in a lot of ways. By world, I mean my world, my life.
Going all in isn't what most people think it is. It doesn't mean piling up all your money and pushing it into something. When I started I didnt have money. I went all in with my passion.
There is no perfect time to go all in and there will always be a million reasons why you can't. Life will accept any excuse you give it. At the end of the say, priorities do matter, but whose are they?
I hear a lot of people say they need to work, pay bills to raise a family. IMO, that is going all in, for your family.

Hey, sorry for the off-topic reply, but I wasn't sure where else to contact you. I looked into the https://www.americascardroom.eu/ website that you suggested to SteemEconomy.com. On their site it looks like they accept STEEM, but they don't actually accept it. I asked their support how to deposit STEEM and they told me to convert it to BTC and then I could deposit the BTC.

They did accept Steem at one point, but stopped. I did a little digging and they use HITBTC payments for their provider.
I asked when they would add it back and they said they don't know but would email me when they did. Then they said I could trade the Steem for BTC and use that. lol

Good advice... and I recognize that I have always been really good at both focus and consistency... I can out-last, out-patience and out-work pretty much anyone. It's the "all-in" part that has always been my roadblock... I seem to have a pervasive tendency to pay more attention (not even kidding) to my "plan B" than to my plan A.

Minifying what keeps me running as a n extract from your post above, working to outdo myself on what I thought I couldn't achieve has for sure given ,me an opportunity to dine on tables which existed merely on my dreams.
