" With nothing more than a gutted interior, and some lightweight seats, this economy-electric car shocked EVERYBODY when it wen’t undefeated against some badass drag cars! It’s AWD, and insta-torque make for a KILLER street combo, especially when the roads aren’t too great..can’t wait to see what the future holds for this Tesla! "

Damn that foxbody owner was salty as hell. No chance of beating a Tesla, the instant torque is insane.

Insane is just the right word or as Tesla itself likes to call it - ludicrous. Funny to see these monstrous cars built just for drag racing getting beaten by a silent luxury sedan.

Gutted, AWD, instant torque, zero trans. Their quick thats for sure. I still stick to my internal combustion.

I get it, totally. The feeling is totally different between Teslas and fast V8 and I'd take both if possible but if I'd have to choose just one, I'd go for Tesla. It's a way of the future.

My old full interior V6 would give that Tesla a serious run for it's money. It had no problem hooking on the streets. So it's not really about V8's for me either. Tesla's are cool but I don't think electric cars are the future of racing. I would own a Teslas but not for racing.

V8 was just an example. Electric cars will take over consumer markets first and racing last. Eventually people will question why use combustion engines instead of electric and telling them about the sounds and vibrations won't do it. Future has a lot of cool stuff in store for us that can be used to race like hoverboards. We'll be fine :)

In the long run, the push for faster electric cars could result in better transportation technology. Kinda how gamers and miners are pushing better computer technology. I'll still love my clumsy, noisy, smelly, and vibrating internal combustion engine...I'll use the Tesla for my grocery gitter.

Agreed. In the early days gaming was only reason for having a faster computer. Now many new uses have come up but gaming is still one of them. I think calculations for AI's and stuff like that are the driving force, at least for the big boys.

Perhaps eventually, but first they need to make batteries cheaper, last longer (both range and through the years of charging and discharging) and be less damaging to the environment upon creation.

I like the concept of electric cars but they are still far too expensive for the average consumer and that is even with government subsidies. Take a look at Denmark they removed the government subsidies and electric car sales fell through the floor.

That's true, all of the points, but it seems when there is a major problem, someone will eventually find a solution. I'm a cyclist so I'm based as I have to breath the toxic stuff from the current cars on our road.. I'd prefer clean air. And products like these always start as expensive and not perfect but the trend has started.

Even having all cars with combined electric and petrol power working together would be better. In cities cars could run mainly with electric.

I'm a cyclist too, I didn't realise how many of us there are on steemit. I completely agree, sucking on exhaust pipes is possibly the worst part of my daily commute.

I think I'm more excited for when the electric motorbikes come down in price. For me that would be the most fun form of transportation.

My uncle has a Model S and about a year ago I got to drive it for a day. Wow! I can attest, that sucker has a lot of power.

I consider you very lucky then. I haven't had the chance yet. I've only seen one Tesla with my own eyes.

Nice video with lot of information!

This is amazing must make the old school car guys feel very out of date with all that hp upgrading.

Yep, these cars can't even be used on the road, yet they are getting beaten up by a luxury sedan that a grandma could drive almost straight from the shop. And the nitros!
