Today I want to share a folklore about Chinese Taboo.
What we Can't and can do. Have you heard about FengShui ? Ying&Yang ?
But today I brought what we Chinese don't do .
Number 4
If you have a Chinese friends or you go any business that owned by Chinese you will hardly can find anything that related to 4 , you can't find table number 4 or room number 4 ,floor number 4 anything as long as it contains 4.
Why Chinese Don't use 4 in their business ?
4 in Chinese translated as (Si) meaning (Die)
But not all Chinese "Allergic" to this number 4 , but 85% still believes this Taboo.
NUMBER 8
We love number 8 !
Eight mean something very good for Chinese , 8 translated as (Ba) or (Fa) it's contains meaning of something wealth , prosperity and rich.
Maybe people all around the world already knows this meaning , let me tell you about something you didn't realize have heard about.
Behind The celebrations of Chinese new year RED&LOUD
If you notice , every Chinese new year the festive will look so red and very loud with it firecrackers sound.
Back in the day , when spring arrive it's mean a new year has arrive.
There a hungry monster they named it as NIAN will come to their town , this monster NIAN always cause a chaos to no matter where he go , he will eat every livestock and especially kids he loved kids meat.
These people can't do anything to fight this monster , on every spring their will lock them self inside their house and place a offering Infront of their door step to avoid NIAN from eating their kids, they believes once NIAN full. He will left the villager safely until next spring come and they just repeating doing this offering on every spring for their safety purpose.
Until one day on beginning of the spring has come (PS don't ask me which spring.i don't have an idea too XD)
The folks notice this monster Nian weaknesses ,
That's when one little kids in red playing firecracker came across with Nian in dark of the night ,when the kid light up his firecracker and it blow up the light reflect to that kids shirt colour and the loud sound make Nian shock , afraid and running away from that little kid.
there where it all started they know Nian weakness.
From that day , every spring Chinese will celebrating new year in red and loud firecracker for hours long.
