Hey Again, Steemitizens!
Well, this was a fine how-do-you-do? I was playing around checking myself in the mirror over at http://steemwhales.com and I was shocked to discover that sometime today I broke into the top 1000 bloggers on steemit, as measured by the number of people following me. With close to 150,000 registered accounts, idle or active, I feel pretty strong about making the top 1000 for followers in just 12 days.
Even better is the quality of my new friends here. I've culled a good bit of the list I blindly followed when I got here, but I made sure I kept all the people who had chosen to follow me of their own free will.
I never begged or really asked for any follows, except as a fun condition of a couple of small challenges Ive run. In general, I did it the old fashion way. I wrote, and posted and conversed and commented and followed interesting people, and hung out in chat on steem.chat and in discord.
I worked it. For 12 days, hard, little sleep, just one... more... post...

And it is paying off. I'm in several top 5000 category spots or better on steamwhales, and way down the list in a few areas too, but this metric seems vastly important in nature and I'm so proud to have the fans, friends and followers I've met here this last 12 days, by my side into the amazing future Steemit and STEEM hold in store for us all!

Here's ANOTHER crazy stat I just found out about myself! In the top 750 of ALL steemit users or post count.
I've been here 12 days. Some of these people have been here 18 months!
for helping me break into the
Top 1000 Most Followed!

My family is making noises about moving into NC. I'm in Columbia, SC right now. I don't really like the area much, and would love to have a little bit of land up in the mountains that I could put one of my human hobbit homes on.
