Like @maverickinvictus said on discord general chart , this community needs more social witnesses,  those that truly care about the communities and not their pockets. 

 last Sunday morning (manila time), i had the most awesome time with fellow steemians via the steemgigs discord talk by @surpassinggoogle. 

Its a thing of beauty when barriers of steem power and Reputation score are broken and real connections are created  with the real humans behind a steemit account. It was magical

After Terry spoke for about 1hr30mins, he encouraged for free style singing. at first it was a little rocky as almost everybody was hesitant to get on the spot but eventually things mellowed.

i was in awe on how much raw beautiful talent we have on steemit, @edprivat popped in real quick and blessed us with his magical voice, it was beautiful. sadly he did not stay long, he had to leave.

@darrenclaxton  did not fall short in any way, his original compositions came through in every way. no one wanted him to stop singing. he was very lively too. i quickly had to follow him on here so i will not miss out on his other songs. i am looking forward to having him join in again  on next next weeks show.. Guys if any of you are into great music, pls give these two a follow.  @mermaidvampire said he made her feel the beach vibes, she would love to listen to his kind of music by the beach with .

Talking about @mermaidvampire, i honestly did not know her until that day and her story moved me. she is in the Philippines she gave a brief history of her start on her steemit journey and how she met a true friend @cadawg who is in the UK . This was beautiful, steemit really making the world small. She mentioned about his birthday too and we all got to sing for him unceremoniously , but it was a fun thing to do, and am sure he loved it. she also shared about her battling with an illness and seeing friends, and family giving up on her, at the time when she needs them the most, and her finding that comfort here on steemit is something special. This was moving to me, and since then, i keep checking on her page once in a while to support her contests and participate here and there.  

Am going to brag a little, noo a lot, because many have heard @surpassinggoogle talk, but not sing, he sang for us, and gave us 2-3 good numbers, and yes you got it right, he has a melodious voice too. this was a special moment. 

we had another member, who recited for us the Holy Quran as his piece of performance , its a special month for our Muslim  brothers and sisters, and with this, am sure they felt more valued. 

I remember @snook commending Terry for such a wise way to get and encourage steemians to engage and post daily in the platform via @ulogs, which has made it waaayy easier for people who find it hard to come with content on a daily to keep moving, she wondered how come anybody else did not think of this great idea. she said some powerful words too that unfortunately i was not able to jot down.  

steemians in Jamaica?

Yes, apparently they are. We got to hear from @angelacs , and her sister. their beautiful accents lit the room, and i am sure there will be a growing community from there side as well. she was very chatty too on the chat room and that gave i and her a chance to share some special moments and laughter. 

this talk show started 12am manila time and ended at, well i dont know what time it ended because it reached 7 am and my eyes could not hold it any more, and my brain felt dead. it lasted for more than 7hrs because i woke up and had a peep at the discord chat room and they were still on, and this was already 9am. most of us who tuned in from the Philippines had a sleepless nights but tee you what? it was worth it. i am looking forward to the one that will hold this coming  weekend. 

Its an entirely different experience when you get to hear the real voices behind the steemit accounts, and feel their humanness, share a joke or 2 and generally just bond. @angelacs also mentioned that she usually does not feel easy to interact and engage with others on other discord channels but this one was a game changer for her and she felt right at home, and honestly i could not agree more.

after the show, i amde sure i followed all these awesome people, and i am looking forward to getting to know more people here on quite a personal level and bond even more.

NOTE: I lost my dear sister to brain tumor yesterday, i am in a deep mourning mood, and writing this post has been a therapy for me. I am alone in the Philippines while the rest of the family is together back home in Tanzania to bid farewell to her. Living abroad sucks even more when such moments happen. its 4am here and i cant sleep. Home sick and trying to swallow the bitter pill.
