Humans have come a long way. While this evolution, people have adapted many things. There has always been an obvious question for researchers is how our ancestors, Hunter-gatherers, survived. Their bewildering lifestyle has led many researchers to understand much better about them, thereby knowing how things have evolved.
Upon researching for a significant amount of time, the researchers from the University of Copenhagen - Faculty of Humanities; and University College London and the University of Cambridge have had an opportunity to analyze, bread with electronic microscopy, and the bread was made 14,400 years ago. This remains of charred bread were found in an archeological site in northeastern Jordan. Also, this one is believed to be the oldest bread ever found.
These researchers analyzed the remains of the food of the hunter-gathers at the time and thinking that because of the extreme time consumption for preparing the food, these ancestors started to cultivate more, thus contributed for agricultural development. This happened because the flatbread seems to be made from wild cereals, plant roots, barley, oats, and the whole process take extensive time: dehusking, grinding and kneading, and baking. This has led the people to develop cultivation, according to researchers.
”Indeed, it may be that the early and extremely time-consuming production of bread based on wild cereals may have been one of the key driving forces behind the later agricultural revolution where wild cereals were cultivated to provide more convenient sources of food, predating the advent of agriculture by at least 4,000 years "

Since this research is awarded the required fund, the researchers want to continue the work hoping to know how people consumed different food items, such as plants and animals in greater detail.
