Hey foodies!
Let me introduce myself. My name is Alina and I'm from Austria.
My passion is food and all the stuff around it. I love to cook, bake and try but also create new recipes. Probably that's the reason why I started to study nutritional science at the department of life science of the university of Vienna. I'm fascinated by the mechanisms how food that we ingest affects our bodies.
First of all, this isn't the regular healthy lifestyle blog that you'd expect. In my opinion, life's to short to ban tasty food that's known for its bad reputation. You shouldn't see food in a way that it's either good or bad for you and your health. Each food stuff has its reason to exist. And that's why you will find "healthy" but also "unhealthy" recipes on my blog. If you manage to keep it in moderation, there won't be any concerns regarding your health. Trust the nutritional expert. ;-)
Beside tasty recipes, I'd like to share science and knowledge about nutrition and diet. I want to reveal nonsense and give you my opinion on a healthy lifestyle. In my career progression, I've had the chance to counsel people who want to reduce their weight and improve their health status. My speciality is veganism. I've already had a vegan chapter in my life. Now, with a few exception, I eat most of the time vegan meals . Maybe, there will be a blog about this some time. No matter what, I gained a lot knowledge about the vegan diet in the context of cancer in the prevention but also therapeutic setting in the course of my master thesis. If you guys would like me to show and explain you stuff that I've learned during my academic education, I would love to write some blogs about issues that you're interested in. Please let me know! :-)
Speaking of "moderation", sports and exercising is my personal key to indulge without feeling full of shame, if you know what I mean. I'm not only a passionate runner and generally a person who likes to integrate exercise in everyday life, but also an expert in sports nutrition. I've already made experience in counselling athletes in terms of nutrition to improve performance, strength or muscle growth, depending on the athletes and their goals. So if you want me to, I could share some knowledge about exercising and sports nutrition, too.
Me, my boyfriend and my family love to travel and eat out. So, maybe there'll be a few travel and eating out blogs featuring beautiful pictures of your experiences and of course the food we ate. Sadly, I'm very greedy. Most of the food I ate didn't last until I remembered that I wanted to take pictures of it. But then there's so little left that it isn't worthwhile to take pictures of it. Am I alone with this problem or are there other people out there who struggle with this? :-D
Here are some eating out examples that survived until I managed to take a picture:
