Mornings, do you love or hate them? I love them and not only because they involve green smoothies. Though it might have something to do with it π
It no secret that I love my green morning drinks. But I also love the quiet, the cool temperatures, and the beautiful sunrises that come with the tropical mornings.
I get up when it is still dark (today it was 5:15 am) but the light comes almost immediately after waking up. I just love it when the morning colors the sky with beautiful pinks and purples. It almost makes me crave a red beet or red dragon fruit smoothie.
But the fridge didn't grand me that honor. Tomorrow it's market day, so clear out the fridge smoothie it is... I didn't even had some greens left, luckily the moringa tree in the garden always has juicy, nutrient-packed leaves we can use.
It's such a yummy and wonderful tree. Hope they new garden has one too and if not I got some seeds ready to go into the soil. Moringa trees grow quite fast and the leaves can be harvested from young trees to make soups, smoothies, and stews....
The leaves are a great source of calcium and are rich in many other essential vitamins and minerals. They have more protein, potassium, and vitamin C than most other food sources. In third world countries in Africa or Asia, the leaves are often used to battle malnutrition... impressive right.... and this miracle tree is growing in our little garden!

Ingredients
2 cups fresh moringa leaves
1.5 cup papaya
1 banana
1 cup pineapple
2 cups water
1/2 cup homemade coconut yogurt
2 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil
Optional topping: hemp heart, goji berries
FYI: no fresh moringa available to you, use fresh spinach instead.
Directions
- Blend moringa and water until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and blend again. If you have a high-speed blender you can throw in everything at once. If the smoothie is too thick for you, add more water.
- Optional: top with hemp hearts and goji berries, or other superfoods of your choice.
Have a happy and healthy week α¦ α¦ α¦

That looks and sounds yummy! I also look forward to both breakfast and lunch because I get to put together my juices.
I am a big raw vegetable juicer, and I love exploring new recipes and trying new things.
I have recently begun drinking smoothies as well, but I kind of do a combination of raw juicing and smoothies.
Sometimes I will juice my veggies first, and then put that juice in the blender with some almond or coconut milk and ice and maybe add a little cinnamon.
I am diabetic and juicing has basically allowed me to stay healthy and control my blood sugar without medication. I always try and incorporate cinnamon and/or apple cider vinegar because those lower blood sugar naturally.

Good morning (or evening) fellow green juice lover ;0 I love juices too but since we moved to Asia I don't have a juicer anymore. I also like smoothies because they still have all the fiber. Thanks for sharing your personal story and I'm so happy to hear juices and health food are helping you to control diabetes without any meds. My hubby has multiple sclerosis which is also under control via food only... well done my friend and thanks again for sharing your success with me ;0 Have a beautiful and healthy week.

Ohh nooo! Never tried starting it from seeds either.... but I'll definitely let you know. We usually take a branch of a tree and put it in the soil. Worked perfectly until now. 3 more weeks before we move house and we can start growing again ;)

True that.... abundant tropical fruit here so we eat some nearly every day. So easy to grow too. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of your day ;)
