Greetings fellow steempunks. Another beautiful tropical day is upon us. The sun has colored the sky in a nice pink glow which matches this morning yummy breakfast drink.

I hope you all have a great week ahead or still enjoying the last moments of Sunday Funday. My hubby has to go to Hong Kong for our business so I will be home alone for a few days.... luckily I have my lovely Chivas to keep me company. Though I love spending some alone time with my beautiful furry friend, I love Hong Kong and I'm a bit jealous I couldn't join this time...

She's ready for a new day in the office it seems :) Managing the whole thing for the office balcony....

Tropical Coconut Morning Bliss

Ingredient (serves 3 for breakfast)

1.5 cups spinach
1/2 cup broccoli florets
1/2 cup red beet
1 banana (or 2-3 tropical small bananas), use frozen banana for extra creaminess
1/2 avocado
1 cup mango
1 cup papaya
1 small red dragon fruit
3-4 cups water
Desiccated coconut to taste
3 tbsp extra-virgin coconut oil

Directions

  1. Place spinach and water in a blender. Blend until smooth. Add remaining smoothie ingredients and blend again. If you have a high-speed blender you can throw everything on at once. If the smoothie is too thick add more water.
  2. Optional: Top with your fav toppings such as cacao nibs, hemp hearts, and chia seeds if you like.

I love in Scotland, so this is as close to tropical that I will get this winter. Any way that might get me eating more broccoli (I believe that it is the Devil's food) deserves my measly, but growing upvote .

Ohh really, I love broccoli... btw you can add any other fruit you like too. Would work well with lots of mixed berries and banana too.

I'm not that much fan of the papaya, but this smoothie looks really good!

ย  ยท ย 7 years agoย

I wasn't either, now I actually love it. Seems to be an acquired taste. Also, they need to be really ripe. Thanks for your comment ;)

ha yeah, there are a bunch of things I didn't like as a kid that now I enjoy (like celery) so maybe one day I'll eat some papaya and be like: This is so goood! haha

Papaya and celery smoothie coming your way hehehe.

ย  ยท ย 7 years agoย

hahaha me from when I was a kid would have thought it's not a great idea haha... right now it doesn't sound that bad, although I still prefer to change the papaya hahaha... but I would try it anyways :D

Desiccated coconut is such an interesting ingredient for a smoothie! Never thought about it before.

That's the fun part about smoothies you can throw in any plant-based ingredients... trial and error... have fun experimenting with new smoothie flavors ;0

Hope you like it too ;) Thanks for dropping by!

This looks awesome. My only concern is broccoli. My last smoothie with broccoli ended up to be undrinkable. :)

You can't add too much.... that's for sure and always pair with enough sweet fruits like banana, mango etc. Have a lovely day!
