Every day I feel blessed to be able to live in this beautiful country. Not only does it bring me joy and happiness, it brings me fresh foods straight from mother earth. This morning I noticed that I was out of spinach, bok choy or kale.... which are my normal greens to make a green smoothie. And what's a green smoothie without the super beneficial greens?
Luckily we have a moringa tree in the garden and its fresh leaves not only house a wide range of health promoting nutrients, they taste similar to spinach.

Ingredients
1.5 cups fresh moringa leaves
1.5 cup papaya
1 banana
1 cup pineapple
2 cups water
2 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil
2 tbsp hemp heart (optional topping)
2 tbsp goji berries (optional topping)
FYI: no fresh moringa available to you, use fresh spinach instead.
Directions
- Blend moringa and water until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and blend again. If you have a high-speed blender you can throw in everything at once. If the smoothie is too thick for you, add more liquid base.
- Optional: top with hemp hearts and goji berries, or other superfoods/toppings of your choice.
Ohh and getting up early definitely pays off! This was this morning beautiful sunrise.
