Fresh Apple Bake
You will need:
Apples
Butter
Brown Sugar
Cinnamon
Nutmeg
Vanilla
Pancake Mix
Water
1 bag red delicious apples - washed, cored, and cut into eighths
Add 1/4 stick butter to warmed pan on stovetop
Add prepared apples
Cover and let cook until apples begin to soften
Add 2-3 tablespoons brown sugar
Add 1/2-1 teaspoon cinnamon
Add fresh nutmeg or ground nutmeg to desired taste (use sparingly)
Stir, cover, and let cook until apples are soft.
While apples are cooking, begin to prepare pancake mix
Add 2-3 cups pancake mix
Add 1/2-1 teaspoon cinnamon
Add nutmeg to desired taste
Mix together
Add 1-2 cups water
Mix together to a consistency thicker than normal pancake batter.
Add 2-3 drops of vanilla
Mix together
Remove lid from apples and add a splash of vanilla
Stir together
Pour prepared pancake mix over apples
Be sure to cover the top of the apples completely
Place in 350-375 degree oven with no lid
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until top is golden brown
Remove from oven and allow to cool
