Being that this weekend it's only my son and I, I decided to wake up a little earlier and surprise him with his favorite dessert, vanilla bean custard with blackberry reduction, to have with our breakfast. You should have seen his smile!

I made Eggs Benedict for him....

and for myself avocado toast with a poached egg.

Our kombucha was ready so we had to drink it! I love always having my kombucha scobies going!

For those of you curious how to make your own batch, here is my recipe. Easy and refreshing!

Kombucha
1 gallon glass jar
Cheese cloth and rubber-band
1 kombucha scoby with its own starter liquid
1/2 gallon cold water
1/2 gallon hot water
1 cup sugar
9 regular good quality black tea bags

In your glass jar, dissolve sugar in hot water and add the teabags. Let sit for approximately 1/2 hour. Remove teabags and add the cold water. Gently add the scoby and starter; cover the mouth on the jar using the cheesecloth and rubber band. Set in a warm dark area, I put mine in my pantry. Wait at least 3-4 days for it to ferment. You should see a thin layer forming on top, unless it's black or moldy this is fine as this is another scoby forming. Taste as the days go but remember don't let it go for too long as it turns into vinegar, which you can use in place of apple cider vinegar if this happens. You can even bottle it up so it ferments even more and bubbles turning it into kombucha soda!

Today we will be going downtown so I'll be taking you with me on our adventure tomorrow morning! Can't wait to share this with you!

Have you tried kombucha?

Oh my gosh these pictures are mouth watering, plus I absolutely love vanilla custard!

Aww thank you!
Yes vanilla custard is indeed a treat :)

Followed you from thl

It just clicked that you are 3 hours behind me, so your "early start" is like REALLY EARLY lol. My son wakes me up at 7:30 and I'm like ahhhhhh why? :-)

Oh my son is 21 and Sundays he takes over the garden and chickens for me so it's an early start for him no excuses lol Poor thing he's in Med School too and here I am putting him to work lol
I usually get up by 5 for yoga and to get all my chores done before I see clients. I prefer to finish early so I have the rest of the day to be with my family and enjoy the day :)

Our son is 7 - so I'm still in "kids mode" with him. He is non-stop from 7:30am to 9:30pm lol. Good things is on weekdays he goes to his summer camp. :-)

Oh I remember the days!
Trust me, it never changes! I still can't take a shower or be on the phone in peace without "someone" asking for or about something lol

Emm it looks too delicious ^^

Thank you for stopping by :)

Oh...it's so nice:)

Thank you :)

I have got to try Kombucha. I will search out a scoby to start. My friend Katie makes it and she loves it. If I was your son, I would be smiling too! Have a good day. Tess

I think you'll like it, super refreshing. And if you let it ferment longer it turns into vinegar so it's very useful!

Thank you and likewise :)

I'm on my way to stay over lol

I saved a plate of pears wrapped in prosciutto for you and a glass of merlot :)

I promised you your outing and It will be posted tomorrow first thing :)

Ohh Thank you that sounds delicious, I ready for our trip, can't wait :)

No, I never had it before. It sounds delicious.

Super refreshing! You can get it in various flavors at any health food store. Let me know if you try it!

Yes, I'll let you know.

Lovely as always. Have a great day!

Yay! Glad to see you back!

Lovely day to you as well :)

Have never had it. Until you described it, I had no idea what it even was! Sounds intriguing.

I think you'd enjoy it! Sometimes people give away free scobies online, it's a great way to start your batch!

Lovely Sunday to you!

Looks like I'll have to check it out! Thanks and a lovely day to you as well!

Hello fellow THL member! upvoted and followed!

Ha nope it is about the food!

Haha thank you :)

I wish my mornings are like this! Never had kombucha so I really want to try! Happy Sunday 😊

You can make it happen girly!

Kombucha is an acquired taste, like a fermented tea, try it from a health food store first, they have various flavors too! Make sure it contains live scoby cultures :)

Wow, going to try both of these recipes. I drank a bottle of Kombucha today. It is expensive to buy at the store, so thanks lovely lady!

You're very welcome friend⭐️
