Healthy lunchbox ideas for school

in food •  7 years ago

As the new school year (for some of us) is approaching, I thought it would be good to get a few ideas about packing healthy lunchboxes to school. I know, I know, some children receive their lunch from the school cafeteria, but there are also those who children who has to pack a lunchbox to school, like mine.

I like to shower them with fruits, grains, vegetables, dairy and protein, but we all know they prefer the way it looks. Us, as parents, doesn't always have the time (or energy) to pack creative lunchboxes and I'm not saying do it everyday. There is nothing wrong with the peanutbutter sandwich that has been packed in a rush, but once in a while, when you have time, make an effort to pack something they would not expect. I can already see their faces when they open those unexpected lunchboxes at school, or even in the afternoon at home.

Okay...

...so unless your artskills are limited to stickfigures, like mine, this is way too pretty and creative for a lunchbox:

Nope, that won't work for me!

This is what I mean:

I love these lunchboxes that has been divided into seperate spaces, it help to build a healthy lunch!

This one is closest to my creativity level:

Try to have at least 5 different kinds of food in there, depending on what you have available, but if you can make it colorful, it will look attractive enough to be eaten, and if it looks attractive and it's healthy as well, you'll look and feel like 'parent-of-the-year'!

How cute is this?:

Notice the silicon cupcake cups used as dividers. That's actually a brilliant idea!

This one I like because it takes away from the regular sandwich. These wraps look very filling!:

Look, no bread!:

This is what needs to be packed to make it a healthy nutritious meal:

Don't forget about the water! Fresh juice too, but water is best!

I think us adults can use this guide for our lunches as well!

Of course we can, then we can eat healthy too. If only I had someone to pack it for me, lol.

I think you must start packing me lunch.... this is great, we tend to think that money in the hand or some sweets and colddrink is fine, but this is really nice and healthy and looks delicious

It does, doesn't it?! I wish my mom had these ideas while she still had to pack my lunch. I got a Marmite sandwich with an apple and Oros every single day, haha...but I survived!

That sounds about right hahahaha

Wow, love the one with no bread. My kid eats healthy but there's always space for improvement :)

Most definitely! Thanks @cheeto.blue!

This is amazing idea for lunch box, excluding egg, dairy or any animal products used in it. Thanks for sharing!

You choose whatever you eat.

Thanks @sunshine247

Well done on a great post. Wish more parents will pack these type of healthy lunchboxes.

Yes, thank you @tanyaschutte

Love this! The meals always look prettier in photos though than in real life! Or maybe I am doing something wrong! :)

Haha @sweetpea, you hit the nail on the head. Mine also tend to look disorganized most of the time, lol. Like a fruit salad or something ;)

Awww they are so cute! This is super useful especially for parents because with all the restrictions that the school ask for these days when it comes to lunch, we almost start to feel like we cant put anything in there anymore:P No cookies no peanuts no sugary stuff.... Theres even schools where I live that seperate kids with allergies at lunch time.. They eat in a different classroom. Crazy enough:( But thanks for sharing xoxox

Yes, the same thing at my son's school. They are not even allowed to have white bread, or even bran muffins. It makes it very difficult to pack a lunchbox.
Thanks for your comment @steemityourway

Wow that's so intense:( so many restrictions these days. Keep it up:) I love the back to school series!

Thank you super mom for the advice
