Hello!
Baozi — small steam pies, which, unlike wontons, made from yeast dough. The filling can be any and we will cook almost the same as last time (pork with garlic, ginger, soy and oyster sauces).
Difficulty: 5/10
Cooking time: 1 hour, 40 min.
Number of servings: 6
Ingredients:
Dough:
- Wheat flour 250 gr.
- Water, 150 ml
- Dry yeast 1 tsp.
- Sugar, 1 tbsp.
- Vegetable oil, 1 tbsp.
- Salt, pinch
Filling:
- Minced pork, 350 gr.
- Garlic, 2 cloves
- Ginger, 10 gr.
- Soy sauce, 1 tbsp.
- Oyster sauce, 1 tsp
- Green onion
Preheat 150 ml of water to a temperature of 40-45°C, dilute the sugar, yeast and leave alone for five minutes.
Sift the flour into the yeast water, add salt and vegetable oil, knead the dough and put it in a warm place for 40-50 minutes, covered with a towel or bowl.
Heat the pan with a drop of vegetable oil and fry the minced meat for five minutes over high heat.
Peel the garlic and ginger, finely chop, add to the minced meat and fry for two minutes.
Add the green onions, stir and remove from the heat.
The dough...
...roll into a rope with a diameter of about 3-4 centimeters and cut into pieces.
Each piece is thinly rolled out, put the filling in the center and collect the edges and secure the top.
Cook in a steamer for 20 minutes.
If you haven't a steamer, put a pan of water on the stove, and a colander or sieve on top.
The main thing is that the baozi do not touch the water and everything is covered with a lid.
Serve with soy sauce.
Bon appetit!
