I had some extra time on my hands due to the holidays so I decided to make a batch of beef jerky... check it out:
I love beef jerky but it is so expensive to buy. Making it myself saved a lot of money and I got a lot more out of it. I used the leanest top round I could find at the store, which was about $6 a pound, and cut it into strips and mainaded them in the fridge for 12 hours. I then put them in the oven on the lowest temperature and left the door cracked open for air flow to dehydrate the meat. Fast forward 6 hours and you have beef jerky!
I made a spicy and a regular batch and they were quite good. I am already ready to make the next batch!
