SUPERFOOD SMOOTHIE // Kale, Banana, Strawberry & Blueberry🍓🍌

in food •  7 years ago

Hey Guys,

I hope you are all well! I have been a little quiet on steem for the past two weeks because my sweet sweet love has gotten the flu TWICE in the month of February. It absolutely breaks my heart watching this illness take over his body, but the only thing I can do is take great care of him and be there with him while the virus runs it's course.

While on the topic of illness, I'd love to share with you one of my favorite, GO-TO smoothies to have either when you're starting to feel under the weather or every day to help boost your immune system! This smoothie is packed with antioxidants and superfoods that carry so many great nutrients to help your body fight illness and rid the body of any toxins.

INGREDIENTS (serves 1 for breakfast)
1 1/2 frozen Bananas
1 handful of frozen Blueberries
1 handful of frozen Strawberries
4 small stocks of fresh Kale
1 small can of Dole 100% Pineapple juice
1 cup Mrs. Gooch's Apple Juice
1 tbsp Vitamineral Green powder
1 tbsp Vitamineral Earth powder
1 tbsp Maca powder
1 tsp fresh grated Ginger root

DIRECTIONS
Add all ingredients to the blender. Blend smoothie on high until all ingredients are completely chopped/mixed together. If the smoothie is too thick for you, add more liquid base.

Yay! And just like that, you're smoothie is ready. I like to drink my smoothies out of mason jars with glass straws. However, you are free to drink your smoothie out of whatever cup you want. Optional: top with toppings/superfoods of your choice such as chia seeds, goji berries, cacao nibs or in this case I topped my smoothie off with one heaping tablespoon of hemp hearts.

This smoothie tastes amazing & the next time you are in the mood for a smoothie in the morning or throughout the day, I hope you try this recipe! It will not disappoint. Please please please take care of yourself during this gnarly flu season and make sure that you are drinking enough fluids, getting enough rest, as well as feeding your body the correct fuel. I have seen the affects of this illness and I hope that no one else has to go through the pain that it brings.
