There is always something in the bush - Dorrigo pepper, lemon aspen and native ginger (Tasmannia insipida, Acronychia oblongifolia and Alpinia cerulea). Alpinia is the same genus as galangal, a key medicine in TCM, and our Alpinia shares many of the qualities of galangal, plus a few tricks of its own.

Dorrigo pepper (Tasmannia insipida, T. stipitata) is high in natural antibiotics which have been shown effective against antibiotic resistant bacteria (so too lemon aspen), and is also effective against hard to remove (for conventional medicine anyway) intestinal parasites such as Giardia duodenalis, and Blastocystis hominus.
