I absolutely love a good, crispy onion ring. Be it a side to a juicy cheeseburger with bacon or just a late night snack by themselves, onion rings can be amazing... but also expensive. Fast food places often price them over fries and give you a small amount, so I started making my own and let me tell you, nothing beats fresh!
What You'll Need:
- One Large Onion.
- One Cup of Milk.
- One Cup of Pancake Mix.
- 1/4 Cup of Cornmeal.
- 1/4 Teaspoon of Salt.
- Canola Oil.
How To Prepare:
Combine pancake mix, salt, milk and cornmeal in mixing bowl. Beat until the mixture is smooth. Peel the onion and cut into 1/4 -inch slices, separating those into rings.
How To Cook:
Dip rings into batter, letting excess batter to drip off, then fry in canola oil, deep enough to let rings float. Suggested you use a tall pot to do this, but a frying pan can work. Fry rings until golden brown, then drain extra oil by placing finished rings on a bed of paper towels. Serve immediately for best taste.
Do you like onion rings? Will you be using this recipe? It's easy and a sure crowd pleaser!
