Usually, I like to take tea in a routine life. I am not much fond of coffee but during my recent trip to South India (Karnataka state) I really loved the coffee. Filter coffee is a part of life in South India. In my whole trip, I didn't take a tea at all and enjoyed the real coffee taste made of coffee beans called filter coffee.

First time in my life I saw coffee plantation and the procedure how it is grown.

Coffee plantation

Irrigation with sprinkler during March - April increases blossoming and results in higher yields. Coffee beans are harvested once in a year.
There are mainly two varieties of coffee produced, Arabica and Robusta. Robusta is mainly grown in Karnataka state as it needs low elevation and less rainfall as compared to Arabica.
Coffee is harvested from November to February. Coffee fruits harvested when they become ripe. When it is ripe beans come out easily. After picking fruits beans are dried and roasted, the color of coffee depends on the roasting temperature.

As I drank only black filtered coffee during my whole trip I felt the difference between the filter and instant coffee. Filter coffee has a real taste of coffee with a slight flavor of roasting.
There are lots of cafe on roadsides who serves best locally grown coffee.

Oh my, how did I miss this?

I lived in Trivandrum (Kerala State) for about 8 months in 2015 and I didn't see that coffee was a big deal.

Although, I am not a coffee freak, yet I would have loved to try a lot of it if I knew.

There will be another travel to South India, then, I will be looking out for coffee and will try this.

Yes, yes, I do love filter coffee a lot if served black without sugar.

Congrats for finally buying a coffee filter! So, when are you going to host a coffee party? 😉

I am also waiting for party.
If party times suit me, I will also like to join the party and enjoy the natural taste of filter coffee.

Sure..you are most welcome!

I haven't learned to drink coffe. And probably never will :D. I really don't like the taste of it. But I'm happy to see that people find something they are passionate about :)

Hi It's so nice to see you have bought a coffee filter! Yes, this filter coffee is very tasty! But I haven't tried it with soy milk yet....

On my Karnataka trip I took only black filter coffee, after coming home I tried it with soy milk.

Hi Sir @chetanpadliya... You visited Coorg?

Oh yes..really a beautiful place. I also visited Mysore and Udupi.

Oh... Then, our home was on your way. You could have visited us just for an hour at least to have a coffee ;)...!
When you travel from Mysore to Udupi, you have to pass through Mangalore!! I really missed a chance of meeting you all. You went by road?

It would have been a pleasant moment to meet and had coffee with you. I saw Mangalore road and yes it was not far, but actually, Udupi was also not in our plan to visit. As I was not aware that it is not allowed to go Kudremukh so after reaching Kudremukh check-post we turned towards Udupi. So Mangalore visit and coffee with you is due for next time. :-) Thanks Ma'am @geetharao

Thank you so much :)...
