甜粽子 (Sweet Zongzi)
甜粽又称栀粿、栀子粿,本是潮汕地区的特色小吃。
在端午节,潮汕有做(食)栀粿的习俗。
本草纲目曰:栀子有清热泻火、除烦解郁、凉血解毒的功效。
潮汕百草良方曰:栀子其味苦、性寒、无毒、根味淡,内服清热利湿、利尿、除烦、凉血止血、散瘀。
潮汕地区的天氣 - 湿热交加,在端午时的時期,因為天气炎热,容易滋生蚊子/蒼蠅,且食物容易变质,而栀子可以清热泻火、解毒凉血,和有助於消化,可预防肠胃疾病。
故潮汕地区以栀子來制成粿品,當做其端午节的特色小吃。
潮汕地區的百姓,又把食栀粿稱之為为食壮,寓意吃了可以身体强壮。
但,栀粿的工序極為複雜,所以現今的栀粿大都是用苏打粉和糯米浆來製成。
