It’s been one of my favorite fast casual restaurants for quite some time. If I eat out, especially for work or when I have limited time, I either go to chipotle, subway, or panera bread. Eating out isn’t always the healthiest option or the most cost effective, but I feel as though the above options are the best alternatives available. They’re relatively healthy in regards to other restaurants, especially fast food chains and sit down restaurants. The only downside is the relatively high concentration of sodium added to many of the ingredients.
I never salt my food, so whenever I eat out, the salt is highly noticeable. Many foods are manufactured and processed with salt for preservation and curing purposes, so salt is generally present before hand. The thing that confuses me is when I see people pouring on salt when they haven’t even tasted their food yet. The food on their plate could already be salty as ever, and there they go adding more.
Eating a diet high in sodium has clear and obvious evidence-based adverse health impacts such as hypertension which may lead to stroke or cardiovascular related events. This is why I try to limit my intake and only eat out occasionally. I may be willing to make an exception for Chipotle Mexican Grill 😋

Love that barbacoa! Great place for a low carb alternative which is why it is always high on my list when eating out!
