It was there to save you when you got out of the bar at 2 AM, drunk as hell, experiencing that awkward mixture of hunger and sickness! It was there to help you when you were too busy to go out to lunch and needed to stay in the office. It was your most important meal after the instant noodles when you were a student! - Beef On Weck, Buffalo, New York, USA
Roast beef (rare), Kummelweck (a special local bread), the upper loaf is soaked with jus (juice from roast beef) and served with horseradish as a side dish.
- Cemita, Puebla, Mexico
A special local bread made with egg, fried steak, cheese (commonly Panela), avocado, onion, Pápalo leafs (a local herb) and a special sauce called Salsa Roja (translates to English as Red Sauce).
- Chivito, Uruguay
Churrasco (Tender cooked beef steak), mozzarella, tomato, mayonnaise, a couple of shredded olives, bacon and a fried egg (hard-boiled egg is also commonly used. This is the base of the sandwich. Two buns filled with, wet-cured ham, Linguiça (a type of local smoke cured pork sausage that is seasoned with garlic and paprika), a fresh sausage (typically local Chipolata is used but any fresh sausage will be fine), steak or roasted beef. After that, the entire sandwich is covered with cheese and a thick sauce that is made from beer and tomato. Commonly served with french fries.
