We should add variety of foods in our diet because they have bio-active components in them that help in preventing many diseases and provide other health benefits.

Plums have phytonutrients and vitamin C such as zeaxanthin, lutein, neochlorogenic acid and cryptoxanthin. These ingredients have powerful antioxidant characteristics and aids in preventing injury from oxygen-free radicals called superoxide anion radicals.

Plum extracts are valuable for treating obesity and some other such conditions. Studies have proven that due to the presence of biologically active components, the ingestion of plums helps to fight the metabolic disorder.

I love plums. They taste so good when we make a smoothie.
I made a smoothie a few months back with plums, pomegranates, watermelon and mint.
It was so delicious and made me feel so fresh.

Hey, thank you for really usefull information! I didn't realize, that ordinary plum is sooo healthy and good for us. I have a plum tree in my garden and every year many of the fruits are wasting, because we can't eat all fruits that the tree gives us :) But this year, I'll try to use all of the fruits, mabye I'll make some preserves for the winter :)
