Okra is a flowering plant, known as the finger or Bhindi in different parts of the world, and is most popular for its fruit. The interesting scientific name for this plant is Abelmoschus esculentus, whose origin is still unknown. Controversial research shows that it may have originated in South Asia, West Africa or Ethiopia, but the jury is still not confirmed.

Okra's different antioxidants make it very useful against free radicals. High vitamin C levels also help the body's immunity to stimulated. I just love Bhindi, I knew there are lot of health benifits eating Bhindi but I wasn't aware of skin benifits. Ty so much for sharing this post.

Nice post. Lady finger also helps in controlling the blood sugar. This is a personal experience. The recipe: Prepare this in the evening. Put three normal size lady fingers in a glass of water after cutting both ends and making cuts in the middle. The cuts help the glue like substance to come out. Drink this water before breakfast after taking out the lady fingers and the white beans. Do this for at least one week and see how your blood sugar remains controlled. You may find it hard to drink this in the beginning. If that happens, remind yourself how high blood sugar destroys the body. Upvoted.
