Food and Health Awareness | The Benefits Associated with Plantains

in food •  7 years ago

Hey folks @cryptokraze here with my new Blog about Food and Health awareness in which I will highlight the health benefits associated with Plantains. We should add variety of foods in our diet because they have bio-active components in them that help in preventing many diseases and provide other health benefits.

Health Benefits of Plantains

Lowers Blood Pressure

Potassium is called a powerful vasodilator, which means it can help relieve tension in the blood vessels and arteries. This can reduce pressure on the cardiovascular system and reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Boosts Immune System

High level of Ascorbic acid means that the immune system remains stimulating and produces white blood cells, which can help protect against infections and diseases.

Improves Digestion

Dietary fiber in these fruits can help optimize digestion by stimulating peristaltic movements, improving the efficiency of nutrient absorption and balancing levels of intestinal bacteria.

Regulates Sleep

Magnesium is well known to increase the release of some essential amino acids like tryptophan and serotonin into the body, these amino acids can help people relax and sleep, especially if they suffer from insomnia or frequent interruptions of sleep.

Boosts Circulation

These starchy fruits also have a high iron content, which is crucial for the production of red blood cells. With enough iron in your system, you can avoid signs of anemia and make sure your limbs and organs are properly oxygenated.

Boosts Cognition

Vitamin B6 is known to be a brain-promoting nutrient that promotes cerebral blood flow and neural activity. Plantains are rich in vitamin B6 and can help increase concentration and memory.

Eye Care

Plantains are not only rich in vitamin B6, but also contain vitamin A, which is directly related to the eye health of many studies. Vitamin A acts as an antioxidant in the human body, reducing oxidative stress in the eyes, including reducing the risk of macular degeneration and slowing down cataracts.

hmm is plantains banana's? , my mom tells me that banana causes constipation, and thats why should eat it lesser, however i see now that it helps the digestive system , and haves many + benefits for the health, many of us are not knowledgeable about these great qualities in fruits and look towards medication e.t.c when we can find remedy in things we have or can easily obtain.
a good post to spread awareness .

Well your mom just showed you one thing in negative way. You have read the benefits here. Also if you are having loose motions then banana should be eaten to constipate and that is a benefit.

Pisang / Banana, the best food and it comes from heaven :)

I eat so many plantains here in South America, they are usually deep fried, but they still should be good for you, right?

Yes

Great post @cryptokraze.
A meal of unripe plantain with local spices such as onions, garlic and ginger could be the answer to erectile dysfunction, low sperm count, ulcer, kidney problems, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
