The fig is associated with the mulberry family and is usually found in Asia. Dried figs can be used almost anywhere throughout the year.

Fig Health Benefits

Prevent constipation

There are 5 grams of fiber in each serving of three figs. This high concentration of fiber regular bowel function improves health and prevents constipation.

Lower Cholesterol Levels

Figs contain pectin, which is a soluble fiber. When the fiber enters the gastrointestinal tract, it excretes excess cholesterol and transports it to the excretory system, eliminating it from the body. As the soluble fiber, fig pectin stimulates healthy stools.

Prevent Coronary Heart Diseases

Dried figs contain the omega-3, omega-6 and fatty acids phenol. These fatty acids can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. More, fig leaves have an inhibitory effect on triglycerides, which reduces the total amount of cholesterol. Different heart diseases are often caused by the use of Triglycerides.

Treat Bronchitis

The natural substances in fig leaves make it a perfect ingredient for tea bases. Fig tea has been widely used in various respiratory diseases such as bronchitis, and it can also be used as a way to prevent and relieve asthma symptoms.

Treat Venereal Diseases

In the Indian subcontinent and other parts of the world, figs traditionally used as sedative drugs to treat sexually transmitted diseases.

Prevent Urinary Calcium Loss

People with a high-sodium diet may be affected by increased urinary calcium loss. The high potassium content in fig helps to avoid this condition and regulates the waste contained in the urine. It minimizes the loss of calcium while eliminating more uric acid and other harmful toxins.

Fig is contain amazing compsition 20gram fig contain almost 5 gram fiber and good source of omega 3 and omega 6 it is rarely found in food
Fiber provide protection against constipation and treatment of swelling.This is very oldest furit and major producer in world is Turkey and China.

@cryptokraze very informative post. I would like add that it’s good to use in shakes like if you are preparing apple or banana shake add few figs it’s very good for health & stmach. It improves digestibility.
