My favorite 7-Eleven Meal

It's a pork ear meal to cut it short. One of the cheapest meal from the newly established 7-Eleven outlet from our area. Most people around including me are happy that one of the best convenient stores popped in and made it's way near our neighborhood so now I can get to enjoy an alternative food when I do not like or it is dangerous for me to eat what is prepared in our table i.e. bony fish dishes.

This particular dish if I would grade it is 3 out of 6 because it is just some finely minced tender pork ears with seasonings. Not much of a protein in it and the rice content is just OK for a light eater like me but if I am hungry I would add a few tablespoons of rice just to satiate my carbohydrate needs.

As for the taste, it's fine too but you won't get that true authentic smoky flavor and plus the second main ingredient, the liver is not included. I don't know why, liver isn't that too expensive not to get included in this 7-Eleven entry but since it's one of the cheapest pre-packed foods for sale about $0.59, we buy it.

I remember a few years ago I when I was still able, we on occasion buy a whole head of a pork. We also buy a liver for that liver flavor that the recipe is known for. I would do all the chopping. The ears go to the boiler with salt and seasonings. The meat sstripped from the head marinated and then broiled on over the charcoals skin down and left to burn.

Only the small portion of the skin will burn because after doing that I would scrape off the burnt pork skin to reveal the golden crispy skin and a tender fat beneath. That will be chopped fine and combined with the now tender pork ears and also with the broiled liver. The snout also boiled tender is also included. Then they are all seasoned and a sour citrus juice is also added to complete the taste of the recipe, my recipe that is.

My cooking is just a thing of the past and I just wish I can cook again so just now I will have to contend with this 7-Eleven food and make it my favorite, a symbol of my longing for cooking but cannot do it anymore.

With nilagang/pritong itlog, solved.

I know you are struggling with your condition, a lot. But I have always appreciated how you appreciate food and cooking! I hope you are able to find food that comforts you, too. I've never seen this food in a 7-11 in the US. I will have to pay more attention about what kinds of packaged foods they sell.

7-Eleven are different here @haphazard-hstead they have local foodstuffs and prepacked rice meals.
Just like McDonalds there at the states, which they don't include rice here they include rice.

It is interesting how companies operate so differently in different countries!
