Orange UnChicken - Plant base recipe

I love Chinese food! Have you ever missed some of those chicken dishes? Look no further! Here is a great replicate of that orange chicken recipe!

Create this orange "chicken" recipe and put it on your favorite fried rice or chow mien. Its sooo good! I'm not kidding! I'm addicted to this recipe and its so simple.

Orange Unchicken

Ingredients

1 block tofu, firm (14 oz)

2 cups Japanese panko

1 tsp garlic salt

Batter:

2 tbsp cornstarch

1/4 cup non dairy milk

Sauce:

Kikkoman Orange sauce or any orange sauce you prefer

Directions:

  1. Lightly pat your tofu dry with a paper towel. Cut your tofu in to small cubes.
  1. In a bowl, combine the cornstarch and the non dairy milk until its dissolved. Gently toss the tofu cubes in to the mix, until lightly coated. Set aside.

  1. In another bowl, combine the garlic salt and the panko. Lightly toss the tofu in to the panko until coated.
  1. Place the breaded tofu in to a air fryer or a lightly greased baking sheet.

  1. Air fry your tofu on 400F for about 20 to 30 minutes. Every 10 minutes, gently shake your tofu cubes so they don't stick to the bottom of the pan.

If you're using the oven, preheat to 425F and bake for about 20-30 minutes or until golden brown.

  1. In a saucepan, heat about 1/2 - 1 cup of orange sauce until desired temperature. Once the tofu is done. Toss the tofu in to the sauce until completely coated.
