BBQ pork ribs are perfect for a flavorful, mouth-watering meal. They cook slowly until tender and are smothered in a homemade barbecue sauce that adds an irresistible touch.

Ingredients:

1 kg (about 2.2 lbs) pork ribs
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 red onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup BBQ sauce (you can use your favorite or make homemade)
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon cumin
Salt and pepper to taste
Juice of 1 lemon
1/2 cup water

Instructions:

Prepare the ribs: Preheat the oven to 160°C (325°F). Place the pork ribs on a baking tray. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and cumin. Cover the ribs with aluminum foil and bake for about 2 hours, or until very tender.

Make the BBQ sauce: While the ribs are cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the BBQ sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, and water. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

Glaze the ribs: Once the ribs are cooked and tender, remove them from the oven and take off the aluminum foil. Generously brush the ribs with the BBQ sauce. Return the ribs to the oven for 10-15 minutes to let the sauce caramelize and stick to the meat.

Serve: Remove the ribs from the oven, cut into portions, and serve with extra BBQ sauce on top. Pair with your favorite sides, like coleslaw or roasted potatoes.
