Experience in the kitchen: "Quesillo" without condensed milk

in food •  7 years ago

One of my last practices in the kitchen was related to dairy products, among them we were taught to make this fantastic dessert, very typical in my country. (Most importantly, should not miss in a birthday).

Generally, it is a product in which condensed milk is used, something expensive like other products. However, this recipe is not used and I can safely say that it is super delicious. I will share the recipe with you.

Ingredients:

The recipe is very simple, you only need:

  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 8 tablespoons of powdered milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence

For the caramel:

  • 8 tablespoons of sugar

Preparation

For the caramel

  1. In a quesillera or mold, add the 8 tablespoons of sugar, you must spread it throughout the mold so that there are no lumps.

  2. Bring the cooking with low flame until the sugar turned brown.

  3. With the kitchen cloth, take the quesillera and move the mold by spreading all the sugar covering as much as possible.

  4. The mold is removed and the mold is allowed to cool.

For the quesillo:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 ° C. Put in the oven a larger mold than the quesillera, it should have a little water (about 5 cm) with a little lemon (the same is not to blacken).

  2. Mix all the ingredients in a blender, at high speed for 3 or 4 minutes. Visualize that it is homogeneous.

  3. Now, pour the mixture into the mold (pre-caramelized), cover with foil, put it in the oven in the largest container with hot water.

  4. Bake for 45 minutes, uncover and leave another 20 minutes until you put a needle and it is clean. Turn off the oven and leave it for about 15 minutes inside

Ready!
