I don't really go to the center that often because I don't want to cycle through all that traffic stress and rush hour madness. Besides, it's really warm to stay in the city these days. But then it also feels like an oven inside my house. Unless Steemit is going to cover my electric bill, I would not fall into the temptation of hanging out beside the AC the whole day. I guess it would also be nice to eat out sometimes. So while I was out and about, taking care of some stuff before my little holiday/business trip, I came across this little vegetarian restaurant. But I'm afraid this is not the typical pretentious vegetarian restaurants in airconditioned malls or some posh place. This is more like my street food kind of place, cheap, delicious and dirty?
They have some vegetarian Asian dishes like this vegetable tempura and Saigon noodles. And of course, some fresh coconut shake from this island. Even though I can definitely cook something tastier, it's also nice to eat out and be full for only $3. I'm glad that I have discovered this place today. I see more locals, mostly health-conscious oldies ditching Mcdonalds to jump on this whole vegetarian fad. Not being surrounded by typical travelers wearing vegan T-shirts hanging out in a $3 vegetarian restaurant while discussing their big problems also add up to my good mood today.
I like the plants and the smiley woody tribal head keeping me company. And the 90's local rock music that reminded me of my glorious childhood happy dayz. You don't get this rugged and anti-posh vegetarian restaurant out there.
But I'm not really vegetarian, pescetarian, vegan or whatever, spare me all those labels. I still let some poor animals digest in my body sometimes, but it just feels like a big accomplishment whenever I go full veggie the whole week. I'm not going to preach this diet to everyone as it's not for everyone. It's just a personal choice. And the good thing about being single and selfish is that I don't have to adjust and consider someone's food or meat preference.
But my diet these days is not just plant-based, it is actually more about avoiding the processed, refined, and other corporate products that are seriously bad for human beings' health. And that includes really tasty and delicious food all meant to be addicting. This is really more than just about keeping my figure. There's just this inexplicable happy feeling whenever I achieve some level of healthy equilibrium. It also feels like I'm more in control rather than the other way around. Not being controlled by these fast food restaurants, food corporations, and evil advertisements. To be able to ignore those without feeling like you're depriving yourself of pleasures is a great achievement.
I do believe that you can definitely control your own eating habits. If you have strong goals in life, whether financial, spiritual or physical, then I believe that nothing is impossible, but deep inner strength is required. Being able to change your own eating habit is really rewarding. I think it is the key to happiness as well. Because if you really love and respect yourself, it will surely reflect on what you put inside your body.
I have a similar view of diet. I have been mostly veg for decades but still eat fish and dairy so don't technically qualify for any official labels. My food choices are largely based on being opposed to animal cruelty and factory farming (which doesn't generally apply to fish).
What I can say is that by avoiding crap foods, my body gradually loses its taste for them so that eventually eating healthy becomes natural rather than something that requires willpower or regimen.
Cheers.

This is so true. Avoiding crap food becomes natural in time.

Nice to see you're treating yourself a little bit. A meal out, here and there, is fun and you can't beat the price!
A coconut shake sounds awesome! Was there ice cream in it??

It is difficult to talk about healthy street food I would never have imagined it, but I like you are right from time to time we can eat outside. I like how you are taking your diet I left a little of mine not much I try to drink a lot of water and not eat as much as I work all day in an office and 6 months ago I do not do exercises
